The one thing I do more often during summer vacation is make snacks! The easiest thing I’ve found to do is make batches of fun snacks the kids can grab for themselves until dinners ready. Furthermore my kids love making this Poprocks Rice Crispy Treat Recipe with me.
Woohoo it’s summer 2019! Ya okay but I’m a 30 something stay at home mother of two. So all that changed is my school aged kid is home all day and it’s hot.
They were patented in 1961 and later sold to the public in 1983. However it was shortly withdrawn for lack of popularity at the time. Later Kraft Foods licensed the Pop Rocks brand to Zeta Espacial.
Pop rocks are a fun candy that I remember loving as a kid! They are a fun topping to add to kids snacks like these rice Kristy treats. My kids gobble them up. Plus they’re so simple to use.
A rumor started at some point that if you eat pop rocks and drink soda at the same time your stomach would explode! That’s a totally false rumor of course! You can drink soda with pop rocks all day and the worse thing to happen might be a tummy ache.
Rise Krispies are an all time favorite cereal to eat and use for treats like these. made of crisped rice (rice and sugar paste that is formed into rice shapes). They make a snap crackle pop sound when milk is poured into the cereal. This is due to the moisture collapsing the outer shell.
This easy Poprocks Rice Crispy Treat Recipe is so fun for the kids. You only need 5 ingredients too. All you need is Rice Kristy cereal, pop rocks, and white chocolate chips.
Also marshmallows and butter. Start by putting all the Rice Kristy cereal in a large mixing bowl. In a medium pot combine butter, marshmallows, and white chocolate.
Apply heat in low and bring to a summer. Continuously stir to avoid burning it. Once it’s all melted pour over rice Krispy cereal. Use a large spoon to mix and combine.
Pour this mixture into a baking pan. Use the spoon to flatten down and even out. Sprinkle pop rock candy evenly over the top. Allow treats to chill before cutting into squares.
The flavors are delicious and so full of flavor. Additionally this recipe is keto friendly…
