Crispy boneless bbq instant pot chicken wings recipe is a household favorite. The breading is perfectly crispy yet soft and the chicken is tender and moist. Homemade bbq sauce is heavenly as well. Especially when the chicken is smothered in it all over! I love making this easy family dinner in bulk as well. That’s because it freezes and reheats so well! 

What ingredients do you need for this recipe?

For The Boneless Chicken Wings 

  • 2 pounds chicken tenderloin skinless boneless
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil

Ingredients For The Homemade BBQ Sauce:

BBQ wings
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

How do you make this crispy boneless bbq instant pot chicken wings recipe?

Directions:

  • Cut the chicken into 1 inch thick pieces.
  • Mix the flour and cornstarch and 1 teaspoon salt in a mixing bowl and whisk until combined.
  • Whisk the four eggs vigorously in a separate mixing bowl.
  • Coat the chicken pieces in the eggs and then the flour mixture and set aside.
  • Repeat the steps until all your chicken pieces are thickly coated in the batter.
  • Add the oil into the instant pot and place some of the chicken into the pot to make an even layer.
  • Pressure cook on high for 5 minutes then flip each piece over and repeat this step until all the chicken is done.
  • Combine all the sauce ingredients in a large mixing bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined.
  • Pour the sauce into the instant pot and put the chicken back in, carefully move the chicken around until it’s all coated.
  • Pressure cook them on high for 5 minutes and allow for a natural pressure release for 10 minutes.
