Epic Baked Pancake Donut Recipe

I made this epic baked pancake donut recipe spontaneously one morning. We had this huge bag of pancake mix that I hadn’t used in a while. I thought, wouldn’t it be fun to make maple donuts with pancake mix? So I started to work on a recipe for baked donuts using pancake mix and maple syrup!

The great thing about donuts with pancake mix is that the pancake mix already has a lot of the necessary ingredients. For example, baking soda and a binding agent such as egg whites.

You only need 4 ingredients to make this dessert recipe for baked donuts. All you need is 2 cups pancake mix and 1 cup milk. Also 1/4 cup maple syrup and 1 tsp vanilla extract. For the maple donuts glaze you need 1/4 cup butter (melted) and 1/2 cup brown sugar.

You also need 3 tbsp milk, 2 tbsp maple syrup, and 2 cups powdered sugar for the glaze. The directions for the donuts with pancake mix are so easy as well. In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients and blend with hand held mixer until thoroughly combined.

Next, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Then grease 2 (6 count) donut pans. Pour donuts with pancake mix batter into donut compartments in the donut pan (fill them 1/2 way full). Bake maple donuts recipe for 8 minutes only.

Directions for the maple glaze is very simple as well. Melt butter in microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds. Add the remaining glaze ingredients into mixing bowl and whisk vigorously until thoroughly combined.

The glaze will thicken as the butter cools off. Let the donuts cool off before dipping the tops into the glaze. This epic baked pancake donut recipe is so simple to make. It’s very delicious as well. You can easily use gluten free pancake mix. Or even use a vegan brand, soy milk, and vegan butter for this dessert if you wish!
