This chipotle carne asada marinade and steak recipe is absolutely mouth watering. If you’re looking for a super flavorful recipe for chipotle steak, look no further. Additionally the marinade for carne asada is drool worthy. It’s so easy to make from simple ingredients you probably already have at home. Furthermore it’s great for keto steak!

Aside from the time you need to let the meat sit and marinade, this recipe for chipotle steak is so quick and easy. You only need a few simple ingredients to make the marinade as well. This carne asada recipe makes the best tacos too. 

You can eat this beef as finger food or in a lettuce wrap for a keto friendly meal. Additionally you can use it in tacos, burritos, or on top of nachos. I’ve been sitting here dipping this finished recipe for chipotle steak in guacamole and eating it. 

Ingredients for chipotle carne asada marinade and steak recipe are so simple. All you need is about 1.25 pounds beef sirloin flap meat (sliced), 1/2 cup orange juice, and 2 tbsp olive oil. Also 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp minced garlic, and 2 tbsp chopped onions.

This recipe for chipotle steak is so easy and delicious.

Carne Asada

Other ingredients for this marinade for carne asada include 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1/2 medium jalapeño (rinsed with guts and seeds removed) chopped, and 

1 tbsp chipotle chili powder. You will also want the following seasoning: 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp paprika, and 1/2 tsp cumin. 

The directions for this keto steak are so simple also. Start making the marinade first by combining the dry seasonings in a medium mixing bowl and whisk until thoroughly blended. Then add the jalapeños, onions, garlic, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, and soy sauce and whisk again until thoroughly combined. 

Next add the orange juice to the marinade for carne asada ingredients and whisk again until thoroughly combined. Put the raw flap meat in a large zip lock bag and pour the entire bowl of marinade on top. Push all the air out of the bag and zip it shut.

Shake the bagged carne asada recipe up and down to evenly distribute the marinade all over the meat. Allow the carne asada to marinate in the refrigerator for a minimum of two hours. You can also marinate the carne asada overnight for maximum flavor. Using a large skillet pan, drizzle a little olive oil and bring to a high heat

Once the pan is searing hot, lay down the carne asada steak

Heat for 3 minutes per side for medium rare and 5 minutes per side for well done. Once the steak is removed from the pan allow it to rest for at least 5 minutes to avoid losing too much juice and drying out

After you have seared the meat for this carne asada recipe, if the pan is becoming too dry, you can pour some left over marinade from the bag into the pan with the steak. However, do not use the marinade for carne asada from the bag as sauce without cooking because it was soaking in raw meat.

  • Allow the Carne asada to marinate in the refrigerator for a minimum of two hours (you can marinate overnight as well for maximum flavor!)
